Peterhead Producers' Market to become a regular event

Rediscover Peterhead hosted its first ever Peterhead Producers’ Market in Drummers Corner on November 28 and such was its success that the market will become a regular feature on the town centre calendar from April next year on the first Saturday of each month.

The first Peterhead Producers' Market was hailed a huge success by organisers and visitors alike.

Leslie Forsyth, Rediscover Peterhead manager said: “As Aberdeenshire’s largest town, Peterhead is well-placed to support a market and we were delighted with the success of our inaugural market. It is proven that markets help to bring shoppers into town centres and that’s what we are hoping to see in Peterhead.

"The businesses of Peterhead have had an extremely tough few months and anything we can do to encourage people to shop in the town centre has to be a good thing for all the local businesses.”

Heritage and Tourism are on Peterhead’s agenda too with the popular Peterhead Trail being extended and relaunched for 2021. The trail will see a new section linking Peterhead Prison Museum to the town centre. Five new interpretation panels, a new trail website and social media accounts will promote Peterhead’s rich heritage and stories from the past, present and future.

The trail extension will help bridge the gap between the museum and town centre and encourage museum visitors to extend their stay by visiting the town centre.
