The Academy, which was set up in May this year, has enjoyed a high volume of demand for its boxing facilities and fitness classes.
This has lead to the Academy’s expansion into a community boxing gym at 19 Skelton Street Peterhead earlier this month.
The money invested by Rigmar has been used to purchase a brand new ring, boxing equipment and allessential equipment for training required to prepare the boxers.
John Morrison, Head Coach and Founder of the Blootoon Boxing Academy said: “We launched the academy with the objective to provide a safe and secure environment for people of all skill levels to further their interest in boxing, to utilize the sport to improvefitness and to engage the local community.
“We have been absolutely delighted with the response from the locals with both the children and adult classes receiving a lot of interest.
“With the money donated to us by Rigmar, along with the support we have received from other businesses, the gym is going from strength to strength and comes complete with an ever expanding range of training equipment.”
Dick Sports, Fraserburgh recently donated boxing uniforms to the not-for-profit organisation, allowing the boxers to compete in national competitions.
John continued: “In addition to our corporate sponsor, committee members and volunteers John Morrison, John Aiken, David Dalziel, Andrew Bruce, Robert Morrision, Mark Devlin and Paula Gordon have donated so much time and energy into the Blootoon Academy. We are delighted to see it pay off.”
Speaking of the investment, Robert Dalziel Managing Director at Rigmar said: “Rigmar regularly supports community initiatives, especially when it promotes an active lifestyle and an entrepreneurial spirit.
“We felt inspired seeing how well attended the Blootoon Boxing Academy classes were and wanted to make sure that those participating in the sport had the correct equipment to prevent injury.
“The Academy has come a long way in a short space of time, which is a testament to the team of volunteers who made it all happen. We look forward to see the exciting developments planned at the site over the next year and will continue to support the Blootoon Boxing Academy to help it achieve its goals.”
