
Over ther weekend, officers across the North East Division dealt with 15 drivers for drink or drug driving offences.
In addition a 42-year-old man was stopped by Road Policing officers speeding at 110 miles per hour on the AWPR Fastlink Stonehaven to Cleanhill Road. He has since been reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
Inspector Lorraine Mackie, of the North East Road Policing Unit in Inverurie, stressed officers would continue to make every effort to ensure drivers putting others in danger are removed from the roads.
She said: “These irresponsible actions of the small minority of drivers is putting others’ lives at risk.
“Our officers will continue to patrol the roads of the north-east and detect these offenders in an effort to keep north-east roads safe.”
