Man assaulted and robbed in Peterhead street
Police in the North-east are appealing for the public’s help after a man was attacked and robbed in a Peterhead street.
A 36-year-old man was assaulted by two men near to an area of shops on the town’s Clerkhill Road around 12.40pm on Monday, March 8.
The attackers also stole the man’s mobile phone, as well as a low three-figure sum of cash.
The victim suffered minor injuries and did not require any hospital treatment.
One of the men involved in the assault was reported to be wearing a green jacket and the other was dressed in dark clothing.
Detective Constable Calum Stewart, from Ellon CID, said: "Police officers have carried out extensive enquiries since this incident was reported to us. However we are now asking for the help of the public.
“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident – 12.40pm on Monday, march 8 – and who may have seen anything to contact us.
“I know the area was busy with pedestrians and vehicles at the time and any small piece of information could prove vital.
“In particular, I would ask any motorists with dash cams to check their footage and get in touch if they have anything which may assist our enquiries.”
