Aberdeenshire Council worked alongside Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre to promote the benefits and quality of locally-produced food at this year’s Offshore Europe exhibition, which took place from September 3 to 6.
The delegates from all over the world were treated to a selection oflocal and seasonal produce during the three day event.
The council contributed toward the cost of uniforms for 250 food-serving staff. The garments highlighted the fact that delegates were being served local seafood and seasonal produce, showcasing some of the high-quality food and drink Aberdeenshire has to offer.
A selection of seafood, including smoked haddock, salmon and prawns, was served at the six main dining areas throughout Offshore Europe.
Promotional banners featured Peterhead skipper John Buchan of the Ocean Venture whose catch is highly prized by King Foods, a key supplier of seafood to the AECC.
In addition to highlighting that the seafood is local, the banners also carried details of the Responsible Fishing Scheme.
Brian Horsburgh, AECC managing director, said: “We understand the importance of working with local suppliers and are keen to showcase the range of produce, food and drink produced locally to all visitors.”
