Georgia Jack (10) and Erin Pyper (11) are both delighted with their recent achievements, a once in a lifetime accomplishment for any dancer. Georgia won her group at The City of Inverness Championships and Erin won her group at The International Festival of Dancing and the Arts in Musselburgh.

Erin also won The Jessie Stewart-Haggarty Memorial Sword, dancing the swords, her favourite dance, against competitors aged 11-13 years.

Both girls followed in their sisters’ footsteps dancing since the ages of two and a half and three aattending classes at The Studio on Peterhead’s Broad Street. Georgia, a pupil at Burnhaven Primary School says the Strathspey is her favourite dance. Erin, a pupil at the town’s Clerkhill Primary School, met Georgia through their dancing and they have been best friends ever since, saying one of the best things about highland dancing are all the great friends they make.

Both girls were thrilled to be dancing at the International Gathering of Highland Dance in Disneyland Paris last November where they took part in the Pre Parade and showcased a modern choreography piece with fellow students. They would like thank their dance teachers for all the encouragement and dedication given.
