Peterhead Scottish Week will host two top-class tribute acts this year as part of its week-long programme of events.

Oasis tribute band Definitely Oasis will be returning to Peterhead on July 18, for this year’s Scottish Week gala.

The band packed out Peterhead Football Club last year and had no hesitation when asked to come back to the club again this year.

Definitely Oasis began in late 2012. Singer Brian McGhee had been toying with the idea for a few years and with Oasis now no longer together he thought it would be the perfect time to do it.

Everyone in the band has been involved in music for years, Derek Brown has been playing up and down the country for the last decade or so as well as Brian, Robin and Tony who were all part of the band Cairo, Derek McCabe has also been touring the country as The Complete Noel Gallagher so the lads are no stranger to the live stage.

For Definitely Oasis it is all about keeping the music and spirit of Oasis alive the band prides itself on sounding as close to the records as possible and with Oasis no longer together this is the closest you’ll get to experiencing a live gig.

Supporting Definitely Oasis will be The Unknowns and Emma Hogarth.

Tickets are on sale now at Peterhead Football Club Bar and online at They will also be on sale at the Scottish Week box office. This will be a over 16s event.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, July25, Scottish Week will be staging a massive 70s fancy dress party at the Waterside Inn.

Keeping everyone entertained on the night will be Abba tribute band Abba A Rival.

The before and after will be DJ Dav playing every other 70s anthem you can imagine.

Abba A Rival are at the top of the tree of Abba tribute acts, with authentic costumes, Swedish accents and choreographed dance routines like the originals.

Therewill be a full stage, lighting rig and large PA system set up for the event. There will also be prizes for the best and worst dressed on the night, although fancy dress is optional.
