Aberdeen favourite Alan McHugh is to return to His Majesty’s Theatre in November playing John Guthrie in a new production of Lewis Grassic Gibbon’s Sunset Song.
Marking a hundred years since the start of the First World War, Sell a Door Theatre Company is reviving Alastair Cording’s faithful adaptation of the classic, recently voted Scotland’s most popular novel of all time.
It will be staged at HMT from Tuesday to Thursday, November 11 to 13, at the end of a Scottish tour taking in Perth, Kirkcaldy, Kilmarnock, Stirling, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness and Dundee.
Alan is well known in Aberdeen having played the dame in HMT’s annual pantomime for more than seven years, a role he takes up again on November 29, and as the script writer for the hugely popular Christmas show.
Tickets for the production at His Majesty’s Theatre are available online at www.aberdeenperformingarts.com, by phone at 01224 641122 and at Aberdeen Box Office at the Music Hall and His Majesty’s Theatre.
