PETERHEAD’S annual marinathon, organised by Peterhead Jogscotland, is set to be bigger and better than ever this year.
The event, which kicks-off on Monday, July 18 from 7pm, will see folk walking, jogging or fun-running the 3k distance along the town’s Lido.
All entries to his year’s marinathon will receive a Scottish Week 50th year souvenir medal. As the maximum number of entrants is 500, no more entries will be allowed once this number has been reached.
Registration for this year’s event will take place at Catto Park pavilion from 2pm to 4pm on the day of the event, and then at Peterhead Sailing Club’s Lido base from 5.30pm if the maximum number has not been reached.
The minimum entry fee for the marinathon is £2 and all monies raised will go towards Peterhead Scottish Week.
Spot prizes will be awarded during this year’s marinathon to ghe best dressed Scotsman/woman under the theme ‘Proud to be Scottish’.
A fancy dress competition will be held at 6.15pm at the Lido marquee with the best three entries winning a prize.
