A FANTASTIC night was had at the Music Hall for Paul Carrick and supporting Act Tin Lin (aka Alex and Ralph).

With a unique sound and lovely harmonies, Ralph’s singing was reminiscent of a young Maurice Gibb. They compose their own music and write the lyrics. Very versatile musicians. This is their third tour with Paul Carrick.

Paul Carrick received a standing ovation when he came on stage. He was wearing his usual signature hat! His six-piece backing group were fabulous, providing not only the instrumentals but also the vocals.

He began with a song from his last album ‘A Differnt Hat’. He sang old and new songs from his various albums moving effortlessly form one song to another and from one instrument to another.

Throughout the evening we were given the opportunity to hear individual members of the band play and sing. He sang music he had recorded with the Eagles and Squeeze and well-known songs such as Behind Those Eyes of Blue; Don’t Let the Sun Catch you Crying and Satisfy my Soul which were met with rapturous applause.

The audience was drawn from a cross section of ages and from the applause he received and the fact that much of the audience were on their feet dancing and singing it was apparent that everyone was having a great night.

Paul Carrick is not only an accomplished signer but a very gifted and talented musician. Hope it won’t be too long before he returns to Aberdeen.
