AN old-fashioned family fun day is being held this weekend in aid of local children’s charities.
The event, which is being organised by NECTAR, will take place at Crimond Airfield on Saturday, September 3, from 10am to 4pm, and will feature a host of fun games, displays, stalls and attractions.
NECTAR chairwoman, Gloria Morris, told the Buchanie: “We really have pulled out all the stops to make it a good old-fashioned fun day with a lot of popular games for both outdoors and in. We have spent ages stringing together bunting to give the day a gala feel and we hope that folk will come out and support this worthy cause and enjoy themselves at the same time.”
Organisers are hoping the weather stays dry for the event, which will take place at the same venue as is used by the stock cars. There will be vintage tractors, a craft tent, various stalls and lots of old-fashioned games.
“We also have a lorry pull contest, which is being supported by New Hope Trust which has provided the lorry and a marquee, and we are looking for teams to enter,” said Gloria.
“There will be a bouncy castle for the kids, face painting, pony rides and a car boot sale as well, which can be booked at £10 per pitch.
“The Fire Brigade and Army Cadets will also be there throughout the day, and there will also be archery available for those wishing to try their hand at that.”
Entry to the fun day is £1 for adults and 50p for children and concessions and Gloria is hoping that there will be a good turnout.
“We’re keeping our fingers crossed that the weather will be kind to us, and hopefully everyone will have a fantastic time,” she added.
