There will be a new feature to this year’s Peterhead Scottish Week, with the launch of the Best of Buchan Awards.
Buchan folk are being encouraged to nominate their champions in a number of categories:
Blue Light hero of the year; teacher of the year; sporting achivement of the year; outstanding local of the year; volunteer of the year; business of the year; group/organisation leader of the year; musician of the year; young ambassador of the year (16-21 years of age).
An final award will be made from the winners of the above category for the overall Best of Buchan accolade.
To submit a nomination, application forms can be obtained from The West End Butcher, the Albert Hotel, Masson and Glennie and Waves Radio (all in Peterhead).
Alternatively, send a private message to Peterhead Scottish Week on its Facebook page and you will be emailed a form or you can download a form from the website, www.peterheadscottishweek.org
All completed forms must be returned to The West End Butcher, 11 West Road, Peterhead, by 12 noon on Thursday, June 30.
Meanwhile, tickets for the awards night, which will be held on Saturday, July 16, at the town’s Palace Hotel, can also be purchased from these locations.
Tickets are priced £25 which includes a two-course meal and glass of fizz. The evening is at 7pm for a 7.15pm start and is for those strictly over 16 years of age.
