AN Aberdeen based mod tribute band is preparing to wow Peterhead audiences for the first time.

Five piece band Target 5 promise to delight audiences with classic Mod songs from the 60s and 79 revival period, with tunes from The Who, Small Faces, The Kinks, The Jam, The Lambrettas, The Chords, Secret Affair and more.

They have played with Mod legends The Lambrettas and the Purple Hearts in the past and have played with London based Small Faces tribute band the Small Fakers

Lead guitarist and backing vocalist Ewan Masson said: “Target 5 are no stranger to the North-East Lead singer Stephen Rafferty played guitar in the Mighty Human Generator who could be heard all across the Longate area in the early nineties from their rehearsal studio behind The Harbour Lights. Bassist Davie Hay played with The Perfect Stranger And The Deed while Stephen, Saxophonist Julie Rafferty and drummer Craig Murdoch are also in aka SKA who have headlined the Banshee stage in the last two Wizard Festivals.”

Ewan Masson also played guitar in Mod influenced bands Mad John and Sons of a Baker and punk band Decontrol.

The band regularly play in Aberdeen, Dundee, Fraserburgh and Dunfermline, and also played last year in Mintlaw for the Peterhead Scooter Clubs 25th Anniversary.

The club’s Martin Penny will also appear at the Harbour Lights to spin some classic Mod and Northern Soul.

Head down to the Harbour Lights, Ellis Street, Peterhead on Saturday June 16 from 8pm.
