GET ready for another spectacular night of music and good times as Indianredlopez presents another generous helping of Shmeet this Saturday (March 3).

Local musicians Stanley return to Peterhead’s Voodoo Lounge to top this bill ahead of the release of their debut ‘Animals with Amazing disguises.’

Fronted by local loon Steven Podlesney, Shmeet organisers say Stanley are arguably the most talented unsigned band they have had the privilege of welcoming to the clubnight.

Combining guitars and keys with a live brass section, double bass, vibraphones and samples along with the unbelievable vocals of frontman Steven, they are not to be missed.

One user on popular music website Soundcloud said of Stanley: “All the charm of The Divine Comedy, all the sardonic wit of Jarvis Cocker (Pulp) with a brass arrangement the Beatles would have been jealous of and a chorus you’ll be humming before you’ve heard it twice. Do your ears a favour and take a listen to this song. One of the best things I’ve heard this year.”

Support comes from Glasgow based band Miss Lucid. Made up of former Peterhead and Boddam loons they are performing under a new name and making their debut at Shmeet.

Making the long Journey up from Ayrshire are Xavia, who always guarantee an impressive live show and definitely worth getting down early for.

Head down to Voodoo Lounge on Erroll Street from 8.30pm. Tickets are £4 (£5 after 10pm.)
