Kosmos Ensemble will perform in New Deer Public Hall on Sunday, December 14 at 7.30pm.
The trio, made up of Harriet Mackenzie (violin), Meg Hamilton (viola) and Miloš Milivojević (accordion) are re-defining classical and world music.
Sophisticated jazz glides magically into wild Gypsy fiddling, emotive Jewish music into hot-blooded tango, Arabic and Turkish improvisation into Greek melodies.
Making extensive use of their own arrangements, alongside vibrant new compositions, entrancing dance rhythms, soulful improvisations and passion delivered with panache and virtuoso technique, this concert will leave you asking for more.
Kosmos Ensemble have performed at the UK’s most prestigious music festivals and venues and performed on BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM and a televised performance on a floating platform at the Portobello River Festival.
Sue Robertson, Volunteer Promoter, said: “Their last concert in New Deer had folk talking about it for many months so we are really delighted they are able to come and entertain us again.
“To make it an extra festive occasion there will be mulled wine and mince pies available and the hall will be set out cabaret style.
“Do not miss the opportunity to hear this well renowned ensemble!”
Tickets are £10 each and are available from Food for Thought and Pharmacy 01771 644366/644217 or on the door.
