Why not go along to Crathes Castle for an exciting weekend of living history and dramatic skirmishes.

The Jacobite and Redcoats Re-enactment Weekend is a free event which is suitable for all the family.

It takes place on Saturday and Sunday, May 3 and 4, from 10.30am to 4.30pm.

The year is 1745 and Scotland is in turmoil! Bonnie Prince Charlie has raised his Standard and intends to seize the throne.

While Crathes Castle tries to remain neutral, many in the area have torn loyalties.

When British Redcoats and Jacobite Highlanders both come seeking local support, trouble is sure to follow!

Joint the Alan Brek’s Regiment as they bring The ‘45 to life. Follow the British Army on patrol and witness Jacobie attempts to block their path. Who will you support?

There will be various event staking place at both the Jacobite and Redcoat camps throughout both days, including ambushes, battles and drill displays.

So go along to this free event at any point throughout the weekend to learn more about the Jacobites and Redcoats in the North-east of Scotland.
