Families from Buchan and the surrounding areas are gearing up for the annual, free, “Wild About Aden” event in Aden Country Park, Mintlaw.
The hugely successful family friendly event will take place over two days, on Tuesday and Wednesday, August 11 and 12 from 10am to 3pm.
Now in its fifth year, Wild About Aden hopes to build upon the great success of last four years where each year over 6,000 people visit the park over the two days.
This year’s event will feature a range of new and different family friendly activities including: outdoor nature sessions; animal handling workshops; a selection of rare breed animals; circus skill workshops; face painting; environmental art; mini beast hunt; potted sports; storytelling; treasure hunt; horticulture activities; wildlife crime caravan; RSPB; Owl & the Pussycat Centre; campfire cooking; Carbon Capture Scheme (CCS) experiments and pinball machine; Woodland Zumba and the ever popular body zorbing and climbing wall sessions.
Children and families alike will also have a unique opportunity to participate in an array of exciting workshops, live science shows and interactive exhibits from the Glasgow Science Museum touring exhibition “Bodyworks”.
Neil Shirran, Aden Development Worker, said: “The fifth Wild About Aden event should prove to be the best yet.
“We hope the event will not only be a really fun, enjoyable two day event for all the family but we also hope it will encourage friends, families, the young and old, to come together and enjoy what one of Aberdeenshire’s top country parks has to offer”.
