With the dark nights drawing in, leaves beginning to tumble and with a distinct nip in the air it can mean only one thing – time for Aden-een.

With only five weeks to go preparations are already well underway for this annual community extravaganza.

This will be the 5th year that Modo has staged an event at Aden Country Park and it has grown considerably both in numbers of participants and audience.

Shell UK have generously continued their support for the event and their ongoing support for, belief in and enthusiasm for the project has been instrumental in allowing it to continue and develop.

The young team planning the event have chosen Fairy Tales as their theme, but with a surprising twist of course, these Fairy Tales are not for the faint-hearted!

Modo has been working with groups of young people from all over Buchan to come up with yet another brilliant performance.

The free CircoModo programmes which have been running weekly since January in Peterhead, Mintlaw and Fraserburgh are at full capacity and it is expected that over 100 participants will be taking part in Aden-een.

The woods will be home to all sorts of dark delights with shadowy figures and eerily lit scenes nestling amongst the trees.

A fiery welcome awaits the audience as they move to the Mansion House area where a record amount of Fire Performers will be located.

Halfway through the evening, a fireworks display will burst into the skies from behind the Mansion House.

There will be music in the Courtyard and food outlets to warm folk up on a crisp autumn evening.

Due to the large crowds and volume of traffic last year, those attending are asked to set off in plenty of time.

The woods open at 6.30pm until 7.30pm and then again after the Fireworks Display until 9pm so there will be plenty of time to check out all that is hidden in the trees.

Improved traffic measures and lighting are to be implemented this year to alleviate the build-up of traffic, both on the way in and out.

Patience will be required however, as due to the popularity of this free annual event and its location some delays are unavoidable.

The walk is not recommended for under 5’s and dogs are not allowed.
