Fraserburgh Old Parish Church will be remembering and honouring the centenary of the First World War at the church on Broad Street on Sunday, July 27 at 11am.
All members of the public are cordially invited to attend this special service which will have a Colour Party, a powerpoint presentation on the Great War and readings from soldiers of the war.
The special guest of honour at the service will be the Honourable Kate Nicolson, Mistress of Saltoun from Cairnbug Castle and the service will be conducted by Miss Dorothy Mair, ex-head teacher of Dales Park School and a reader in the Church of Scotland.
The pulpit of the Old Parish Church is actually a war memorial to those in Fraserburgh who lost their lives during the great war.
Members of the public are invited to bring their own medals and military honours ,or bring those of your parents, grandparents and great grandparents to lay on the Communion Table at the front of church before the service starts ( from any battles or wars over the years ) or you may prefer to wear your medals.
The church hopes to have a wide display of different medals to remember and honour all past church members as well as friends and family members.
Members of the British Legion are also welcome to attend this service.
