Design award bids being sought

Those who have demonstrated skill in local construction and renovation projects could be in the running for recognition in the 2014 Aberdeenshire Design Awards.

The Aberdeenshire Design Awards are given to outstanding design achievements in the categories of Housing, Business, Conservation, Landscape Design, Sustainability, Craftsmanship and Public Art. Nominations are now being sought for the scheme ahead of the closing date of Friday, February 21.

Eligible projects include those involving new-build, regeneration, conservation, restoration, conservation or extension. The first phase of judging will take place in April, ahead of further judging in July, and winners will be announced at a ceremony in September.

The Aberdeenshire Design Award was established in 1997 as a means of raising the profile of good design.
