Erin Strachan won the 11 Years North of Scotland Open Championship on Saturday, October 12.
It was her first championship win and she won her section with three first places and one third place across the four Highland dances.
It was a very successful and emotional day for Erin being crowned champion and to top it off she also came runner-up in the 11 Years Premier National competition.
Erin is a pupil of the Slessor School of Dance in Peterhead where she has been a student for the past eight years.
Commenting on Erin’s recent success her dance teacher, Jacqueline Slessor, told the Buchanie: “Erin is a credit to the dance school.
“All her hard work, determination and commitment has paid off.
“I am very proud of her and this great achievement. Winning a championship is what every Highland dancer aspires to achieve and Erin has worked extremely hard to accomplish this.
“I wish her every success for the future and hope that many more championship titles follow as she thoroughly deserves it.”
