The Aden Community Allotments Association (ACAA) is to hold an open meeting to discuss and keep everyone informed to current progress, and the future development plans for allotments and community garden in Aden Country Park.
The open meeting is to be held on Thursday, June 20 at 7.30pm in the Aberdeenshire Farming Museum.
After identifying the land, getting approval from the Buchan Area Committee, receiving the appropriate planning permission, and successfully securing funding totalling over £77,000 from the Keep Scotland Beautiful - Climate Challenge Fund (CCF), the Aden Community Allotment Association (ACAA) is now ready to get the project officially started.
ACCA chairperson Leigh Minion said: “We are going to create a fantastic allotment and community garden site in Aden y Park. The site will have a community garden and approximately 42 different sized allotments.
“If you are interested in getting an allotment, want to be involved with the community garden, or simply want to be kept informed of what’s planned, please come along to the open meeting.”
The allotments and community gardens project will not only provide the local community with an opportunity to substantially reduce their carbon footprint by composting and reducing waste.
