This weekend marked another drawn game for the Blue Toon as their winless run was extended to six matches.
This game was about the goals rather than the goalmouth action, which was in short supply.
Scott Ross was serving the second of his two game suspension and Jordan Brown recovered from an ankle knock and took his place on the bench.
The first half was poor fayre with the opening goal by Peterhead after 27 minutes the highlight.
Simon Ferry sent a probing ball forward from midfield, perfectly weighted to send Rory McAllister free inside the area.
His drag back put Forfar defender Michael Dunlop completely out of the game and he then laid the ball into the path if Nicky Riley who guided a low shot into the net with his left foot.
The home side failed to build on their advantage and it was all square three minutes after the re-start.
It was a soft goal to concede, Tom Obrien squeezing a pass to Gavin Swankie who scored from an angle to the right of goal.
An improved second half saw another goal after 71 minutes, Athletic taking the lead with a superb shot from Ian Campbell who launched a 25 yard daisy cutter to beat Graeme Smith.
Six minutes later though the Blue Toon were level with another fine goal.
Substitutes Andy Rodgers and Leighton McIntosh combined, Rodgers laying the ball on a plate for McIntosh to strike a sweet shot low into the bottom left corner.
The game could have been a home win with Shane Sutherland shooting at Forfar keeper Scott Gallacher soon after the goal the looping a header past the post with five minutes remaining.
