Buchanhaven Hearts travelled to Aberdeen to take on Glentanar in their opening First Division game.

They started well and Ryan Duncan skipped inside Askew and shot narrowly wide, then Geddes came close with a shot from 20yards which had McLennan scrambling to keep out.

Glentanar hit back and Forbes pulled off a great save from a Munro shot. Glentanar took the lead when three Hearts players got caught from a cross from the right and Rennie nipped in to glance a header past Forbes.

It got worse when a poor clearance saw Morrison pick the ball up, run at the Hearts defence unchallenged, played a one-two and got the return ball and shot past Forbes to put Glentanar ahead by 2-0.

Hearts tried to get back inot the match when Abolghassem broke into the box but his shot hid the side netting.

The visitors had plenty off the ball at the start of the second half with Geddes coming close after a good ball from Duncan.

Hearts were enjoying a good spell but could not break down the Glentanar rearguard.

Ritchie hit a good cross into the box but Duncan could not connect and hethen had another good chance but shot wide from a decent position.

Glendinning then got down the left and forced himself into the box and cut back the ball to Geddes whose shot was net bound but hit McLennan and bounced over the bar.

Hearts tried hard to get something late on but could not penetrate a strong Glentanar defence.

It was a disappointing day with Hearts giving away two bad goals and never recovering despite all the second half pressure.
