At last Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery are able to report a change in weather conditions during the past week.
Although the change was not dramatic, it was sufficient to note an improvement in fish activity which was reflected in higher catch numbers.
The week was still hampered by annoying breezes but the reduction in rainfall allowed the water levels to lower and the colour to reduce.
The best catches this week still fell to lures but the level of the “take” was higher in the water and we saw the buzzer and bloodworm presentations enjoying more success.
The best recorded catches for this week fell to: A Murray, Gardenstown, 15 fish, (pink cat’s whisker), M Stewart, Methlick, 12 fish, (olive fritz), J Abel, Fraserburgh, 9 fish, (blob), K Murray, Fraserburgh, 9 fish, (cat’s whisker), J Laing, Aberdeen, 8 fish, (fritz), N Thomson, Turriff, 8 fish.
