AT LAST! The last few days have seen a remarkable rise in fish activity on the surface and catches are being recorded in the upper water column at Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery. The variety of end tackle never ceases to amaze and with the best catches for the week we have shown the preferred lure to illustrate this point.

Top catches for the week were J. Mackenzie of Girvan (20 fish, orange fritz and buzzers); K. Reid of Gardenstown (18 fish, yellow dancer and bloodworm); N. Thomson of Turriff (18 fish, buzzers); C. Field of Fraserburgh (14 fish, cormorant); S. O’Brien of Aberdeen (14 fish, black lure) and L. Greenlees of

Aberdeen (13 fish, black lure).

E. Wardy of Banff (ten fish, mini cat); I. Watt of Turriff (ten fish, bloodworm); S. Maclean of Fraserburgh (nine fish, various lures); M. Michie of Buckie (eight fish, damsel nymph) and M. Bruce of Buckie (seven fish, nymphs).

Another 14 anglers recorded catches of between six and eight fish. The fish-off for the Troutmaster 2010 competition will be held on Saturday, April 2 and all invited entrants should confirm their participation to the fishery on 07980 999006.

The fishery is open this week from 8am to 5:30pm each day. Fishing tackle available for hire and bookings are not necessary. For any information phone Bob on 07980 999006.
