This year’s Peterhead Running Festival was officially launched on Tuesday at the town’s Balmoor Stadium.
The 5th Annual Peterhead Running Festival will take place on Sunday, June 28, from Catto Park playing fields.

Spokesman for the organising committee, Stephen Bruce, told the Buchanie: “This year we are really thrilled and honoured to welcome two local companies as the main sponsors of the festival.
“These are Masson and Glennie and MB Plant along with a number of partner sponsors.
“Without their generous sponsorship it would be impossible to put on such an event of this scale in Peterhead.”
Brian Rennie, managing director of MB Plant commented: “We are really delighted to be one of the main sponsor of this year’s Peterhead Running Festival 5km in June, and we are hoping all abilities and all ages will come along and participate is this great event”.
The MB Plant 5km continues to grow in popularity year on year and attracted more than 150 participants last year which this year is part of the Jogscotland Challenge series.
Head of Jogscotland, Billy Mitchell, said: “We’re delighted that the MB Plant 5km is included in this year’s Jogscotland Challenge Series.
“All the events in the series are guaranteed to be friendly and welcoming for all abilities – especially beginners – and that’s something that we know Peterhead Running Festival excels at.
“Whether you’re hoping to walk your first ever 5K or race hard to achieve a new personal best, it’ll be a fantastic event to take part in.
Billy added: “Peterhead jogscotland, which organises the festival,is one of the most vibrant of our nationwide jog groups, and we know they’ll do a brilliant job at making this an enjoyable day out for joggers and spectators alike.”
The Peterhead Masson and Glennie Half Marathon will return for the Sixth year, and takes you out the beautiful Buchan countryside through the village of St Fergus, and back into Peterhead via another route with views over the River Ugie, and finishing on the running track at Catto Park where you are sure to get an enthusiastic reception as you finish.

This year’s festival again will again include the Shell School Fun Runs in partnership with Aberdeenshire Active Schools.
Peterhead Football Club will be open for visitors and teas and coffee.
There will also be a primary school football gala.
