Peterhead Athletics club held its Annual General Meeting on Tuesday and used the occasion to mark and celebrate the contribution to services to athletics in Peterhead over the years.
Fraser Clyne, a former Scottish international marathon runner, kindly attended the AGM and presented life member certificates to Shona McKinnon, Alan Reid, Jim Mundie and Sandra Mundie.
The evening was successfully rounded off by Fraser giving an insight into his running career and inspiring those present to take part in competitive events and do their best with enjoyment.
Last weekend there were two cross country events held.
The Run 4 IT North District Cross Country League was at Keith with the club being represented by Alan Reid and John Robertson.
Also Ritchie, Masson, Trevor Calder, John Pascoe and Andy Davidson took part in cross country event for the first time by running in the Run 4 It KR Steel Winter Cross Country Series at Balgownie, Aberdeen.
The club has been busy getting ready for Peterhead 10k which took place on Sunday November 9 with a capacity entry. Meanwhile, the club, along with Active School, is looking to run a trip, for the P4-S3 athletics club, to Aberdeen Sports Village on Tuesday, November 18. The children will get a tour of their fantastic athletics facilities and also get to participate in a session with Aberdeen Junior Athletics Club.
