Peterhead ASC had eight swimmers competing for trophies at the Upper Deeside Challenge last weekend, writes PASC coach Colin Reekie.

A real test of endurance as the kids were swimming in challenges that were 50m, 100m, 200m of the same stroke with the largest amount of ‘fina’ points accrued declaring the winners.

A great day of racing was had by all and you could see them getting more and more tired as the day progressed.

We assembled at the end of the event for the prizes which this time was awarded to Lauren Thomson who achieved Silver trophy for the sprint challenge and a Bronze trophy for the backstroke challenge.

Also claiming a prize for a day’s hard toil was Kevin Henderson who collected a Bronze trophy for the fly challenge.

The coaches would like to say well done to all the kids who attended today to represent Peterhead ASC.

The Peterhead Amateur Swimming Club have had a successful season so far.

Medals have been won at the Buckie Mini Meet early this month, at the Alford Otters fourth 100 Meet at Westhill, at the North District Sprint Championships in Inverness and at the UDASC Graded Junior Challenge.

There have also been dozens of personal best times for club swimmers.
