Young swimmers from Peterhead Amateur Swimming club recently competed in the Garioch Mix Up Meet in Inverurie.
Briony Rollo, Emily McGee, Lauren Davidson, Caitlin Davies, Bobby-Drew Buchan, Benjamin Dougal, Blair Reekie, Harvey Buchan and Ewan May, all headed to Inverurie for the two-day event, which was held on February 21 and 22.
For those who may not have been to Inverurie pool, it’s a four-lane 25m pool.
The atmosphere created in the small pool was fantastic and the racing was at a very high standard.
There were many memorable moments through the day with all kids gathering a few PBs each.
On day one, prizes were awarded to Briony Rollo who took Bronze in the 100m Breast and Caitlin Davies who secured Silver in the 100m Breast, Silver in the 50m Free (and set a new PASC club record for 16 years-old girls), Bronze in the 100m IM and Gold in the 50m Back with a fantastic race and a close finish that had everyone on their feet.
PB of the day went to Lauren Davidson with an incredible 19 sec in her 400m Free.
Meanwhile, the bravery award went to Briony Rollo who wasn’t well and toughed out the 400m Free also with a 12 sec PB.
Last but not least mention must be given to Benjamin Dougal who gave a great account of himself and produced some memorable swims throughout the day.
The second day of this fantastic meet saw just two swimmers, Emily McGee and Caitlin Davies, get up with the larks and head over to Inverurie for another long but enthralling day.
The morning session saw both girls make good times in their 50m Fly with Caitlin taking a Silver medal in her heat.
In the afternoon both PB’d in their 100m Back with Caitlin taking a Gold and then in the 50m Breast again Emily PB’d and Caitlin took Gold.
Well Done PASC!
