On Saturday August 31 junior swimmers from Peterhead’s Amatuer Swimming Club had a successful day at the Deveron Mini Meet.
Every swimmer achieved a personal best time and between them bagged an amazing 13 gold, one silver and six bronze medals. Aidan Low, Elaine Murray, and Blair Reekie all won gold medals in each of their individual events.
The 4 x 50m Freestyle 8/9yr relay team of Bobby-Drew Buchan, Christiana Dougal, Harvey Buchan and Ewan May won silver medals, with the 10/11yr team of Elaine Murray, Blair Reekie, Erin McNeil and Aidan Low going one better, winning gold.
Christiana Dougal also won a silver and bronze medal in two of her individual events.
Bobby-Drew Buchan won bronze in fly, Ewan May picked up bronze in free and gold in back and Leah Garland brought home 3 bronze in her back, breast and free. Elaine Murray also set a new club record in the 10 years old 50m BC.
A special mention goes to Jacob and Joseph Willox who competed in their first away meet for the club. After such a brilliant result,the club would like to congratulate all the swimmers and thank the coaches and officials on duty at Banff.
