Sunday saw the first serious frost of the season at Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery.

This does not mean that anglers abandon the dry fly box as there will still be days where activity will justify their use but as can be seen from this week’s main catches, all of the anglers featured were fishing sub-surface and predominantly with lures. The main catches this week fell to:

J. Murison, Banff (28 fish to 10lb, Buzzers, WSW, and lures); A. Murray, Gardenstown (21 fish to 10lb, Budgie); A. Davidson, Kildary (ten fish to 10lb, Green Fritz,Bob’s Bits); L. Davidson, Macduff (nine fish to 9lb, Olive Fritz, Cormorant); A. Gibson, Gardenstown (eight fish, to 6lb, Olive Fritz); D. Stewart, Aberdeen (seven fish, WSW);B. White, Aberdeen (seven fish, Bloodworm, Damsel); D. Coull, Rosehearty (seven fish, Copper/Olive Fritz); S. Innes, Portknockie (six fish to 6lb, Bunny Leech).

The fishery is currently open seven days from 8am til 7pm although closing times will be monitored.
