Peterhead youth cyclist Callum Cooper enjoyed two wins in two days over the course of last weekend’s cycling action.
On Saturday, Cooper took to the road at the Grampian Grand Prix held in Alford with a series of two criterium races.
The first race of the day was a tactical affair, with none of the other riders prepared to let Cooper gain any ground on them.
After half an hour of racing, it came down to a sprint from the last corner, which the Peterhead Academy pupil took with ease.
Stage 2 was a different matter which saw Callum power away from the start to comfortably take the win and overall competition.
Sunday saw a trip to Fife and round three of the Kingdom Crits Mountain bike race series.
Clearly the previous day’s efforts took no toll as Callum rode away from the field and had lapped all by the time he crossed the finish line in first place.
