Peterhead Golf Club junior section has recently benefited form a donation of £500 from the town’s Feuars Managers.
The donation was greatly received and went towards junior coaching, lessons on golfing edit and course management skills by golf professional Lee Vannet.
Feuars Managers Louis Duncan and Chris Pentith presented the cheque to Michael Allardyce, junior covener at the club.
Michael said that this local support was greatly appreciated and helped many of the juniors, some of whom had recently taken up the sport.
Peterhead Golf Club boats a junior section of more than 100 members ranging from five to 17 years-old.
The club continues to look for additional new members and would welcome boys and girls of all ages to go along and try the sport.
Junior members represented the club this year at various competitions, including the North East Pennant League and the Felicity Trophy, travelling to Aboyne, Ellon and Duff House Royal to play their matches.
Some members also participated in the Paul Lawrie Foundation Golf Days and the club was proud to be chosen as a venue for one of their prestigious events earlier in the year.
Although the summer season has just about come to an end, the junior section is looking forward to the start of the junior winter league.
Started last year, and based on the adult format, this was very popular among the membership.
Played over nine holes on a Saturday, players accumulate points over the winter with the winner being presented with a trophy at the end of the winter season.
