Despite the rain and wind there was a great turn out for the 8th Peterhead Jogscotland Marinathon at the Lido during Scottish Week.

Over 190 people of all ages took part in the 3km walk jog or run, children in prams to Grannies and Grandas walking the route, it was a really great family event.

Stephen Bruce said: “When we seen the kind of night it was we thought if we got 50 people turning up we would be lucky, but we were really delighted with the response from the Peterhead public, and everyone said they really enjoyed it despite the gloomy weather.”

Although the Marinathon is not a race (no prizes are given for the winner) first home in a time of just over 9 minutes was Eddie Feranandes, while first home for the girls was Ellie Robertson, aged 12-years-old from Peterhead Jogscotland.

The event is used mainly by Peterhead Jogscotland to promote their groups which start on Monday, August 24 at Catto Park.
