Maud’s league season came to an end with a fine win and a fifth place finish in the Superleague which is a remarkable season for a small county Club.

With an even first half, Maud stepped up a gear in the second half and ran out comfortable winners in the end.

Duguid had the first chance early in the game but fired high over the bar. Both sides were cancelling each other out and were finding it difficult to create an opening. The visitors took the lead from an Alexander corner was met by Luke Barbour who made no mistake with his header.

The visitors started the second half by doubling their lead from an excellent Alexander corner which Duguid connected with at the front post to head into the roof of the net.

On 51 minutes stand in striker Bain was fouled in the box and the same player took the penalty and dually converted with ease to give Maud a three goal advantage.

Maud’s final game is on Sat 24 May in the Final of the McLeman Cup at Colony Park, Inverurie 2pm kick off.
