Despite what a lot of people think, it’s not only the male population who enjoy a game of football.
Stephanie Campbell (23), who works as a recruitment consultant at Genesis Personnel in Peterhead, juggles her work life around her love of the game, proving the sport isn’t just for the opposite sex.
Stephanie swaps her stilettos for football boots at the weekend when she takes to the pitch to play for her local team, the Buchan Ladies Youth team.
Stephanie, who lives in Peterhead, but spent the majority of her life in Atlanta, Georgia, fell in love with football at a young age and finds that it helps her to unwind after a day in the office.
She said: “I was always a tomboy growing up and would play football at school and at home whenever I had the chance to. My dad really encouraged me and inspired me to continue to play.
“We travelled all over the United States with my football team and we have the best memories from it together.
“When I play it makes me feel so much better, if I had a bad day at work or not a good day it makes me forget about everything. I still get home sick for America at times and when I play football it makes me feel like I’m home and in my comfort zone every time, best feeling ever.”
Stephanie joined Genesis Personnel in February 2012, and her job involves, registering candidates, reviewing CV’s and assisting clients with their requirements.
In her spare time, she likes to keep fit, ensuring she is ready for football matches.
