The Sunday Primary School Football League held at Pitfour Park Mintlaw finished its seventh season on May 13.

The league is sponsored by Grampian Police and enables local primary school children to take part in a fun competition prior to meeting up again when they attend the Academy.

This season Pitfour, Mintlaw, Crimond, New Deer, Maud and Longside Schools entered teams, along with Buchan Girls and Mormond Football Clubs.

Mormond and Crimond finished the league with the most points and met each other for an action packed final. Both teams played excellent football but Crimond were the stronger side on the day and the final score was 4-1.

Ex-Peterhead FC player and current Longside Juniors manager Nat Porter attended to present the prizes and he chose Callan Gray from Crimond as player of the match.

Well done to the children who turned up every Sunday morning and helped make the league such a success. Roll on next season!
