BUCHANHAVEN Hearts took on East End on a blustery day at Raemoss park at the weekend.
The opening exchanges were pretty even. Bruce saved a shot from Laing as East End came close. Hearts forced a corner which Ballard took and Fraser collected well under pressure from Clark.
Glendinning was booked for kicking the ball away as the game needed a goal. With so much passes going astray Hearts broke the deadlock when a Ritchie corner was knocked home by Glendinning who reacted first to knock the ball past Fraser.
Geddes then had a shot knocked off the line by Wright, there were no further incidents in a relatively poor first half.
East End had the wind at their backs in the second half and equalised with a very dubious penalty. Mark Stainton was fouled and the ball broke to Durno whose run was adjudged to have been stopped by Keith. Kirkwood scored from the penalty to make it 1-1.
Glendinning was replaced by Findlay after he was brought down by keeper Fraser but the referee didn’t give Hearts the penalty.
Bruce saved well from Laing as both teams were looking for the winning goal and in the dying minutes a Kris Keith freekick was glanced wide by Ballard which turned out to be the last chance of the game.
This was a poor display from Hearts who never seemed to get going with the forwards starved of the ball and a poor decision by the referee gave East End a share of the points.
Hearts’ next game is away to Dufftown in Division 1, kick off at 1.30pm.
