One of Peterhead FC’s directors has stood down from the board with immediate effect.
Steve Innes, who joined the club in 2009, made the announcement with a statement on the club website.
He said: “With immediate effect, I am to stand down as a Director of Peterhead FC.
“I would like to thank all the staff and supporters of PFC for welcoming me into the club, and for your support during my tenure.
“I have enjoyed my time at the club, and have made many new friends as a consequence.”
Innes, whose business I&K Motors whill continue to be the official vehicle sponsor of the Balmoor club, was previously the chairman of Highland League side Inverurie Locos. He has also said he will remain a keen supporter of the team.
He joined the Toon nine months after leaving Harlaw Park after being courting for a directorship by Peterhead chairman Rodger Morrison.
When he was appointed, Innes said: “Peterhead FC is a highly respected and ambitious club with superb infrastructure already in place. The facilities at Balmoor Stadium are the envy of many.”
Innes stood down from Locos due to business and family commitments and the Buchan Observer understands he has left Balmoor for similar reasons.
Inverurie based business I&K Motors was founded in 1983 and Innes remains at the helm 30 years on.
