Peterhead centre back Ross Smith is facing a two-game suspension following a straight red card in Saturday’s clash with Annan.
The 22-year-old former Dundee United man was disciplined for a reckless tackle late on in the game.
The suspension, which will see Smith miss Saturday’s game against Queen’s Park and next week’s meeting with Montrose comes as a big blow to boss Jim McInally’s plans for the final stretch of the League Two season.
McInally said: “I’m desperate to see it because I want to appeal it but the problem is Annan haven’t put it in their highlights.”
“He certainly slid in but he only had one foot out and the guy dived.
“Funny thing was that the guy who had been rolling around was involved in a melee a minute later.
“It was a game with plenty of needle and the referee just couldn’t handle it at all. The ref was really weak.”
