After Annan pipped Elgin to three points at Borough Briggs, Steven Swinglehurst fired a warning at Peterhead.
The 21-year-old said: “We can definitely still win the title.
“That’s football, isn’t it? Anything can happen. If we keep winning then I’m sure Peterhead will slip up along the way.”
His comments follow on from his manager’s ‘cryptic’ message to the rest of League Two last week.
Jim Chapman said Peterhead needed to show humility despite their position at the head of the table.
