Peterhead eased themselves towards the start of the new season with a comfortable win at Links Park.

The Montrose squad contained eight Trialists compared to a Blue Toon one that was full of familiar faces and that told as the visitors strolled to victory.

The whole travelling squad were given a run out in typical friendly match fashion with Jamie Redman leaving the fray only to later return, not helping matters!

There was also the surprise appearance of defender Callum Macdonald who played the second half and if he can stay fit would be a bonus addition to the squad.

The deadlock was broken after 12 minutes.

Jordan Brown was brought down 20 yards out and Jamie Stevenson showed his class sending the free kick low into the bottom right corner with pace and accuracy.

Brown the tried his luck midway through the half but shot high and wide then just before the break a bit of magic from Rory McAllister, who had a quite match before being subbed, saw him hemmed in by two defenders but still manage to conjure a flicked shot onto the roof of the net.

The second half was predictably peppered by numerous substitutions from both sides. Brown continued to be an impressive threat for the visitors and he saw a header froma Stevenson corner kick go wide before nodding the clincher after 52 minutes, finishing off a Leighton McIntosh cross from the right from close range.
