IN the Deejays Nightclub League, New Pitsligo were crowned champions after out-classing Clinton Thistle.
The first chance of the game came from a Clinton free kick on the edge of the Pitsligo box which Milne fired inches past the post.
Clinton came close after Slater beat Simpson in the away goal to the ball but he fired wide. A long ball forward was headed on by Slater and Whyte shot hit the bar and over.
Against the run play Pitsligo took the lead when they were given a free kick on the edge of the box after Adams was judged to handle outside the box.
M. Stephen crossed and Gibby Stephen fired in the opener. M. Stephen on the left crossed for M. Fraser to fire wide from inside the six-yard box. On 38 minutes it was 2-0 to the visitors after a Patterson shot was fumbled into the net by keeper Adams and another mistake by the usually reliable Adams let in a soft shot by Michael Stephen.
Into the second half a break upfield by Pitsligo ended with Michael Stephen firing into the corner of the net.
At the other end An Atkinhead shot hit one post then the other and out. Neil Christie made it 5-0 with a deft flick over the outrushing Keeper. David Patterson made it six with a fine drive from outside the box and he got his hatrick shortly after then Neil Christie finished off by scoring the away side’s eighth. Congratulations to Gibby and the Pitsligo boys.
Bellslea ended their season as runners-up after winning by 6-1 against St Drostans.
The away side took the lead with a goal from but the home side hit back scoring six with lee Noble firing home four and one apiece from Daryl Allan and Arron Gall.
The home side finished the match with ten men after Jamie Buchan was red-carded. Invercairn United played host to St Combs in a derby match. The home side were 2-1 ahead at half time and St Combs had a right go in the second half but found the home side defence hard to break down and the home side went on to score another two goals. Home scorers were Nicky Tait with a brace and one each from John James Sim and Kevin West and for the visitors was Joe Dollman.
Mormond Thistle entertained Cheers in an entertaining match and it ended all square with each team scoring five goals. The home goals came from Ross Brown with two and one each from Michael Coutts, Daniel Scott and Martin Smith and for the away side were Scott Buchan and Mark Atkinson both netting braces and the other from Michael Greening. Cheers finished with ten men after Scott Cowe was sent off.
