Rosehearty had the first chance when McLaren was played through and his shot was brilliantly saved by Allan.

He had an easier chance to score from a Moir cross to the back post where McLaren shot over from close.

A defensive blunder by Sim nearly gave Mormond their first chance but the ball went for a corner.

Just before half time young Lewis Cruickshank shot went narrowly over the bar. The teams were 0-0 at half time.

The second half had only been playing for three minutes when Mormond took the lead after Cruickshank was played through on the right and he calmly shot past Coyle in the Rosehearty goal.

At the other end keeper Allan came rushing out to save at the feet of McLaren.

Sherwood cut in from the left and went past two defenders before his cut back found Cruickshank who fired over.

Mormond extended their lead on 62 minutes when a mix up between the Rosehearty defence and keeper Coyle and the ball fell to Robbie Wilkinson who coolly lobed the keeper from the edge of the box to give Mormond a two goal lead.

Rosehearty had a break on 78 minutes when they were awarded a penalty but Neil Holland’s shot was brilliantly saved by man of the match Mormond keeper Dean Allan.

In the Gordon Leask Memorial Cup Semi Final, Faithlie United faced Clinton Thistle and the home side had the better of the first half and took the lead on 29 minutes with a goal from Nathan Sandison.

On 39 minutes the home side doubled their lead with a fierce shot from Daniel Reid.

Into the second half and Roy Noble had two great chances to extend the home side lead but on both occasions he blasted over.

With 72 mins gone a mistake by Stuart in the away goal left Dale Allan an easy header to make it three nil.

On 77 mins a Porter shot for Clinton was deflected in past Reid to end the scoring and a comfortable win for Faithlie.

Bellslea entertained Mintlaw Fc for a place in the Final and the home side took a two goal lead thanks to Jonathon Garden, Mintlaw keeper had three good saves, the best one from a Summers header, then the away side scored two goals in 3 minutes with goals from Euan Little and Martin Smith.

It went to a penalty shootout which Mintlaw won by five goals to three, Mintlaw winning penalty takers were Euan Little, Jamie Park, Marc McQueen, Stuart Park and Michael Weir.

In the Deejays Nightclub League Panasonic faced Mintlaw Fc and the away side won by the odd goal in five.

Scorers for Mintlaw were Stuart Park who netted twice and Nicol Davidson and replying for the home side was Kyle Watt and Ryan Duncan.

In another league game Longside Thistle faced Methlick and in a high scoring game the away side pick up their first league points this season with a four goals to three win.

Methlick scorers were James Gracey who netted a fine Garrick and one from Ryan Bonner and for the home side was J Jay with a brace and one from Jason Bain.

St Combs faced Bellslea and went in front on 15 minutes when Nicky Tait converted a penalty.

On 33mins a quick break by Bellslea and Rollo rounded the home keeper to level the game.

Rollo gave the away side the lead in the second half before a neat move by St Combs left Tait to be this second and level the game. The away side were then reduced to 10 me after Rollo was sent off.

The home side got the winner after some great work by Tait whose shot was parried and it fell to Smith who found the bottom corner of the net to win the game.

Mintlaw Fc faced Clinton Thistle and won for the visitors by the odd goal in five.

The winning goals came from Darren Batty who netted twice and the other came from Simon Whyte and replying for the home side was Nicol Davidson and Sean Park.

In another League One game league-leaders New Pitsligo entertained Bellslea who were missing several players and after a good start to the game by the away side, the home side took the lead with a goal from James Cassie.

It stayed that way until the second half where a nice finish by Peter Stewart doubled the Pitsligo lead and they controlled the remainder of the game to earn another three points.

St Combs faced Longside Thistle and the home side found themselves two goals down with 10 mins, St Combs hit back when Alan Taylor finished from a Dunbar cross.

It was level when Nicky Tait ran from the half way line and fired in. On 31 Mins John Smith had a simple finish to put the home side ahead.

Longside then squared the game at three all. In the second half Alan Taylor headed in his second goal, then John Smith converted a Tait cross to make it 5-3.

The home side scored a sixth from Dollmanand Nicky Tait scored the last one. Scorers for Longside were Liam Davidson, Luke Stephen and an own goal.

Balmoor entertained New Pitsligo and the home side were dealt a blow on five minutes when Michael Waddell was sent off for a hand ball.

Raymond Taylor converted the pen and later doubled the away side lead, Balmoor hit back in the second half with a goal from AJ Buchan but couldn’t find another.

In SoccerWorld Scotland League 2 Ardallie were hosts to Cuminestown in a League 2 game and it was the home side that get their seventh league win in a row after they won by seven goals to three.

Buchanhaven FC faced Invercairn in a League 2 game but it ended with a fine win for the visitors after they won by seven goals to one.

In the Cuminestown Cup Quarter Final New Deer faced Invercairn and the home side found themselves a goal down when Jordan Guild scored for the visitors.

Damie Duncan fired in to level the game and in the second half New Deer went on to score another two goals from Damie Duncan and Leslie Fulton.
