Maud’s game against Stonehaven was a rehearsal for the North Regional Final on May 31 at Ian Mair Park in Dyce.

With a few changes to the Maud line-up it was very much an effort on behalf of the management to try something different and straight from the kick-off it was obvious the starting 11 were up for this game.

Relentless pressure from Maud finally paid off after 17 minutes when they won a throw-in on the left five yards from the visitor’s goal line.

Hall took it to Duguid inside the penalty area with his back to goal, he quickly turned his defender and hit a powerful low drive that had the keeper well beaten for an excellent first goal of the afternoon.

On 38 minutes a great punched clearance from J.Barbour flew into midfield where it was played straight up to Duguid who hit a great curling shot past Smith for Maud’s second.

Three minutes into the second half the Stonehaven pulled a goal back.

With 15 minutes to go, Dugid got his hat trick when he cut inside his marker and hit another hard low shot past Smith.

Maud won a free kick which was taken to Bremner who cut inside the area and extended Maud’s advantage.

Kevin Simpson replaced Scott Lynch up front which resulted in Maud’s fifth goal.
