Visitors Culter were far the better side against maud on Saturday.

They triumped 3-0 in the PMAC Group Superleague match and on this form look like retaining their league championship.

Culter started on the front foot and took the lead after five minutes when Jamie McAllister got in front of his marker to guide the ball past the diving Barbour.

But as McAllister scored, he went down injured after the collision with the Maud defender and was then taken off injured.

Maud were finding it hard to create any real chance, closest was a cross come shot by Fraser going wide. Substitute Taylor had two shots in quick succession which were easily dealt with by Barbour in the home goals.

A Chalmers cross was just too hard for Alexander to get enough on his header to trouble Duffy.

On 35 minutes the away side doubled their lead from a Grieg corner McBain ran across the Maud defence to head home at the front post.

A good run by Leith ended with a ball cut back for Grieg but he blazed high over the bar.

Early in the second half a dangerous cross by Conway fund no takers inside the box. Maud earned three corners in quick succession but were all cleared by the strong Culter defence.

On the hour mark a slip by defender Kirk let in Taylor who then squared to Greig whose shot was drilled low past Barbour.

Taylor had another chance when he was played in on the right but his shot could only find the side netting.

Fraser was then replaced by Morrice for Maud.

Maud’s best chance of the game came from an Alexander cross which Barbour’s looping header was brilliantly saved by Duffy.

Maud made two further changes with S. Bremner and Bain replacing Alexander and Conway. Taylor had a great chance to extend the Culter lead but Barbour made a fine save with his feet.

Maud now have to pickthemselves up and travel to face Stonehaven in a PMAC Superleague match this Saturday at 2pm.

Meanwhile, everyone at Maud wish Culter’s McAllister a speedy recovery from his injury sustained in the match .
