Maud JFC 1
FC Stoneywood 3
Maud took on FC Stoneywood on Saturday in the first round of the Dominos Pizza North Regional Cup.
The first chance of the game fell to the pacey Campbell from the visitors and it needed home keeper McKinnon to be quick off his line to block.
The visitors took the lead on 16 minutes when they were awarded a penalty after a rash tackle by Kirk. Up stepped Campbell to blast home.
Ritchie and Bremner both had shots for Maud but both were well wide of the goals.
Barbour sent over a cross which was met by Hale whose header was brilliantly saved by the visitor’s keeper.
The visitors broke and Campbell’s cross was side footed in by Grant to give the visitors a two-goal lead.
Fraser set up Ritchie but he dragged his shot wide then a Hale cross was flicked on to the bar by Barbour with the away keeper beaten.
Hale drove forward but fired in to the side netting from a tight angle, ending the first half.
The action got back up to speed quickly in the opening minutes of the second half when a Main cross was met by Rae whose shot went over the bar .
Hale set up Fraser but once more shot wide of the goals.
The visitors had two great chances to score but McKinnon in the home goal brought out two fine saves.

The home side pulled a goal back when a Whyte cross was headed on by Barbour and Hale had time to control and side foot home.
