Cardno had the first chance for Longside when he got on the end of a Duncan pass but he didn’t connect right and the opportunity was gone.
Longside took the lead in the fifth minute when Scott Porter scored direct from a corner kick.
Two minutes later they doubled their lead when Sean Butcher rose to head a Bruce free kick past Park from eight yards.
With ten minutes gone a Butcher shot from the edge of the box was saved by Park at full stretch.
The home side pulled a goal back in the 12th minute when Beddie was dispossessed in midfield the ball was played through to Colin Pirie and he dispatched the ball past Thomson .
Lewis had a good chance again minutes later when Pirie flashed the ball across goal but Law arriving at the back was too late to hit the target.
The visitors did have the ball in the net again when Butcher rose above Park to head home after a Cardno shot had crashed off the bar but the referee gave a foul to the keeper.
A 25-yard free kick from Findlater came back off the defensive wall before being cleared.
A Porter corner hit the post before falling to Norris but his shot was blocked before the Lewis defence managed to get the ball clear. Pirie rose to head a Robertson free kick narrowly wide. At the other end Duncan turned and shot from the edge of the box but Park saved at full stretch.
Lewis drew level in 35 minutes when Cook weaved his way into the box and from his cut back John Law fired the ball home.
Longside regained the lead just before half time when Ross Cardno picked up the ball and drifted past two defenders before drilling the ball past Park from 15 yards.
Just after half time Murray put over a fine cross which was just too high for Pirie. A cross from Cook was headed clear by Bruce as the home side searched for the equaliser. Cardno fed the ball through to Duncan but his 20-yard shot was straight at Park.
Lewis equalised in the 64th minute when the Longside defence couldn’t get the ball clear and Martin Crisp took advantage to stab the ball past Thomson.
A Cardno cross was just too high for Bruce and he headed the ball over the top.
Cook had a great chance to score when he found himself in the clear bur he sent his shot wide.
The home side took the lead for the first time in the 80th minute when again Longside contributed to their own downfall with more lacklustre defending and John Law scored from close range.
Longside made a change at this point when Whyte was replaced by Weir. Porter won a corner in the closing minutes but when Bruce’s kick came in Norris was adjudged to have committed a foul.
This was a very disappointing result for Longside who after taking a two-goal lead should have gone on and got the win but some woeful defending cost them big time.
This Saturday Longside travel to play Banchory St.Ternan in the PMAC group Superleague (kick-off 2pm).
