Cruden Bay resumed their home PMAC Division 1 (East) campaign after three postponements with the visitors’ being Glentanar.

The visitors started the brightly of the two sides and had more of the play.

However the Bay gradually got more into the game and created a couple of chances. Glentanar were not to be outdone and had a couple of chances of their own.

The Bay went ahead after 36 minutes when a porter cross was concerted by Stainton. The lead was shortlived, however, when, in the 43rd minute, Adams for the visitors latched onto a long ball from defence and ran on and hammered the ball past keeper Leiper to put the teams level.

The Bay went ahead again after 50 minutes. A corner from Gibb on the left found Norris who then put in a cross which found Ross, just inside the box; the Bay defending putting in a looping header which went over Glentanar keeper McAskill and into the net.

The Bay should have consolidated their position a few minutes later when Tocher latched onto a clearance and ran on into the box, however his attempt hit the side netting.

The visitors again drew level in the 55th minute with a repeat goal of the first half when Adams again latched onto a long ball and put his shot past Leiper.

The visitors then applied more pressure and Bay keeper Leiper made a couple of fine saves to keep the scores level.

However, he was beaten with five minutes left by shot from the right from Taft.

The Bay tried to get the equalise but visiting keeper McAskill was equal to all the home side’s attempts, in particular when he back peddled to tip a looping header from Norris over the bar.
